I have been asked by the organisers to help publicise the forthcoming concert by the Exevox Chamber Choir (from South West of England) in Mirepoix Cathedral. Their announcement :

The choir were so impressed by the acoustics in the Cathedral, by the charm of Mirepoix and by the warm reception they received that they could not resist coming back and they are giving another concert in the Cathedral Saint-Maurice on Tuesday May 26th 2015 at 21.00 hours.

The concert will consist entirely of unaccompanied choral music stretching from William Byrd to Jo Akepsimas, a living French composer, through G-P Palestrina, Anton Bruckner, Francis Poulenc, Spirituals, Arthur Sullivan, Welsh Traditional Folksongs and Billy Joel. The programme is guaranteed to make you laugh and cry by turns.

ExeVox is a small a capella chamber choir of hand-picked singers from all corners of the south-west of England. We are brought together by a shared love of music old and new, classical and contemporary, so one of the key ingredients of an ExeVox concert is that you are as likely to hear Bach as the Beatles, Palestrina as Cole Porter, Bruckner as Billy Joel.

We believe in this challenge to the singer and in the wider exposure of the fantastic worldwide and ageless repertoire of choral music that exists. We have sung in churches and halls, castles and hotels, market places and restaurants, all under the inspirational leadership of our Musical Director, Peter Adcock, a brilliant pianist and organist.
